Strategic Equity Transactions Analyst, EMEA

About the role

The Strategic Equity Transactions Group (SETG) is a private-side equity structuring group within Investment Banking Capital Markets (IBCM) that designs and delivers bespoke solutions for corporates, financial institutions, sponsors, HNWIs and SWFs. It originates strategic transactions for risk books in EMEA, focusing on financing and derivatives. The role is based in Mumbai and involves working with senior bankers on deal ideas and supporting the origination, execution and ongoing management of structured equity transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with senior bankers on the analysis and development of transaction ideas for discussion with clients
• Support origination, execution and ongoing management of structured share-backed financing, corporate equity derivative and equity-linked transactions
• Build and maintain networks and dialogues with internal stakeholders, from coverage to trading to infrastructure support functions
• Take part in marketing efforts, helping prepare client presentations, term sheets and pitches
• Support all aspects of trade execution for structured deals
• Coordinate transactions internally and with clients and third parties such as other banks, law firms and auditors

Required profile

• MBA Finance or CA background with 4-5 years of experience in broader financing roles
• Strong knowledge of financial statements and accounting concepts, able to analyse financial results
• Knowledge of derivatives or equity-linked pricing and valuation methods
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and meet tight deadlines across multiple transactions
• Proven ability to use AI tools productively and responsibly
