Mechanical Engineer – Cooling Tower & Pump House Design

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in cooling tower and pump‑house design to support EPC projects. The role involves leading thermal and process design, ensuring compliance with international codes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Thermal and process design and sizing of natural‑draft and induced‑draft cooling towers.
• Engineering large water pump houses (≈13,000 m³/hr flow), including vertical turbine pumps, volute intakes and forebay design.
• Pipe layout, surge and stress analysis, and preparation of GA drawings.
• Design optimisation, engineering schedule management and review of engineering documents across multiple projects.
• Ensuring compliance with Indian, American, British and European codes, and integration with HVAC and fire‑fighting systems.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, preferably in EPC environments.
• Proven leadership as a Lead Engineer or Reviewer, capable of guiding cross‑functional teams and resolving site/interface issues.
• Strong client coordination and technical communication skills.

Required skills

• Cooling tower design (NDCT/IDCT).
• Pump‑house engineering, vertical turbine pumps, volute intakes, forebay design.
• Pipe layout, surge and stress analysis.
• GA drawing preparation and design optimisation.
• Compliance with IS, AS, BS and European codes.
• Knowledge of HVAC and fire‑fighting systems.
