MAG Welder & Mechanic – Heavy Construction Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a skilled MAG Welder and Mechanic to join our Chennai workshop, supporting the maintenance and repair of heavy construction and earth‑moving equipment. The role combines precision welding with hands‑on mechanical work to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MAG welding on structural components and attachments, following drawings, material specifications and safety standards.
• Diagnose mechanical faults on excavators, loaders, cranes and similar machinery using basic tools and diagnostic techniques.
• Carry out repairs, component replacement and preventive maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Assemble, fit and adjust parts, ensuring correct alignment and function.
• Inspect equipment daily, document work performed and report status to supervisors.
• Collaborate with workshop and field teams, adhering to all workplace safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven MAG welding ability with experience reading welding drawings.
• Hands‑on experience maintaining heavy construction or earth‑moving equipment.
• Technical qualification or certification in welding, mechanical engineering or industrial training (ITI or equivalent) preferred.
• Ability to read technical manuals, service instructions and equipment diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and commitment to safety.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Chennai, including occasional extended hours.
