Linux System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time, on‑site Linux System Administrator to join our team at the SAC ISRO campus in Ahmedabad. You will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Linux servers, ensuring high availability, performance and security across our infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and patch Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu).
• Monitor system health, performance metrics and security alerts.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash or Python scripts.
• Diagnose and resolve server, network and application issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for escalations.
• Implement and verify backup and recovery procedures.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and support compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Solid troubleshooting and technical support skills.
• Basic knowledge of network security, firewalls and access controls.
• Ability to work on‑site, manage priorities and communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
