Linux & SQL Software Engineer – Cloud, Agile & Technical Support

About the role

Synechron is looking for a technology professional with 5-10 years of software development experience who knows Linux and SQL environments. The role supports technology initiatives, software development, technical analysis, issue resolution and cross-functional delivery. You will work with technology and business teams to understand requirements, design solutions, prepare technical documentation, take part in code reviews, support testing and resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
• Write technical specifications and detailed documentation for new features, enhancements and solutions.
• Write, test, deploy and support software solutions using the applicable programming languages, Linux environments, SQL and project technologies.
• Use Linux and SQL skills for application analysis, troubleshooting, data validation and issue resolution.
• Stay up to date with technology trends and suggest practical improvements.
• Conduct code reviews to support code quality and adherence to development standards.
• Resolve technical issues, support team members and collaborate with testing teams.
• Take part in SDLC activities, Agile ceremonies, project planning, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Contribute to process improvements and maintain technical documentation, support procedures and knowledge materials.
• Support efficient use of application, infrastructure, database and processing resources.

Required profile

• 5-10 years of software development experience.
• Experience with Linux environments and SQL concepts relevant to development, testing, troubleshooting or support.
• Experience with one or more of Java, Python or Node.js.
• Experience with SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Git, JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and code reviews.
• Preferred: Linux and SQL support experience, strong technical experience in mobile, cloud, IoT or blockchain, and experience with build, release, deployment, monitoring or incident-management tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python and/or Node.js; ability to read, write, test, debug and maintain code.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts; investigating data issues and validating results.
• Strong understanding of cloud technology platforms and infrastructure.
• Ability to work with the frameworks and libraries used on the assigned solution.
• Agile and Scrum, Git, JIRA and Confluence.
• Secure development and support practices.
