Lead Construction Design

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Construction Design professional to head the technical and creative aspects of steel frame and connection design for high‑rise, industrial and infrastructure projects. The role ensures projects are delivered efficiently, innovatively and in full compliance with Indian and relevant international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design and detail engineering of steel frames and associated concrete components for commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure buildings.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of designers, connection engineers and drawing office staff, driving value‑engineering across all projects.
• Ensure seamless integration of design outputs with production, PPC, erection and project management functions.
• Oversee accurate calculations, sketch steel connection details and conduct necessary analyses and studies.
• Mentor the engineering team, evaluate internal talent and reduce reliance on external agencies.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in connection design for steel and fabricated structures.
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Deep knowledge of Indian codes (NBC 2005, IS 800, IS 456) and wind/seismic considerations.
• Familiarity with international codes (minimum BS 5950) and basic understanding of precast and post‑tensioned methods.

Required skills

• Proficiency in structural software: Excel, IdeaStatica, ETABS, SAFE and Staad Pro.
• Strong analytical expertise in steel frame, member and composite steel‑concrete design.
