KYC Analyst - Barclaycard Issuing

About the role

Barclays is hiring a permanent KYC Analyst in Chennai within its Banking Operations team (Group Economic Crime COO area). The analyst completes periodic KYC/CDD reviews for Barclaycard Issuing customers, keeping customer information complete, accurate and up to date while identifying and escalating financial crime risks.

Key responsibilities

• Complete end-to-end KYC/CDD periodic refresh reviews for customers in the Barclaycard Issuing portfolio
• Review customer profiles, identify gaps or changes and validate information such as entity details, ownership and control structure, directors, source of funds and source of wealth
• Perform customer and financial crime risk assessments and identify AML, sanctions, PEP, adverse media or other risk indicators, escalating concerns through the prescribed process
• Initiate customer outreach for cases needing additional information and keep accurate case notes and an audit trail
• Ensure cases are completed within agreed SLAs and quality standards, responding to Quality Assurance feedback and escalating complex cases to the SME or Team Leader
• Support operational objectives such as backlog reduction, productivity, quality and timely completion of reviews

Required profile

• Experience in KYC, CDD, AML, financial crime operations or customer due diligence
• Understanding of periodic/ongoing KYC review processes
• Ability to interpret customer and corporate information and supporting documentation
• Strong analytical and investigative skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases against SLAs
• Good written communication and ability to document the rationale for decisions
• Desirable: previous experience in a regulated financial institution, corporate/commercial KYC, UBO identification, and maker/checker or QC/QA environments

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other standard Microsoft applications
