Kitchen Staff

About the role

The Kitchen Staff member will prepare breakfast and lunch items, support serving lines, and assist with occasional catering events. Working in Opaa! Food Management’s kitchen environment, you will ensure food is prepared safely, presented attractively, and served at the correct temperatures.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain serving lines daily, ensuring food is held at required temperatures.
• Prepare menu items according to Opaa! recipes, including baked goods, breads, and batch‑cooked dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, cafeteria, and dishwashing areas, and follow FIFO inventory practices.
• Record food temperatures, complete HACCP logs, and comply with HHFKA and CACFP regulations.
• Assist with inventory requisition, stock organization, and restocking of serving supplies.
• Participate in safety programs, meetings, and required training.

Required profile

• Ability to follow standardized recipes and menu plans.
• Attention to food safety, hygiene, and temperature controls.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional catering events.
• Commitment to Opaa!’s core values and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Operation of kitchen equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders) with certification.
• Food safety knowledge, including HACCP procedures and temperature logging.
• FIFO inventory management and stock organization.
