Junior System Administrator – Service Desk & Desktop Support

About the role

We are seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our IT team. The role combines Service Desk coordination with desktop support, offering exposure to enterprise‑level infrastructure, Windows and Linux environments, and user‑facing IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, log and resolve IT support tickets, incidents and service requests via the ticketing system.
• Provide on‑site and remote support for Windows and Linux desktops and laptops.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain operating systems and business applications.
• Manage user accounts, password resets and access permissions in Active Directory.
• Support printers, scanners, conference‑room equipment and other peripherals.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues.
• Perform employee onboarding and off‑boarding activities, including asset allocation.
• Maintain IT asset inventory, documentation and patch‑management processes.
• Assist with software deployment, email and collaboration tool support.
• Monitor system health, escalate critical incidents and ensure compliance with security policies.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or related field.

Required skills

• Ticketing system usage and IT service management processes.
• Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting.
• Basic Linux administration.
• Understanding of computer hardware, laptops, desktops and peripherals.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and general networking fundamentals.
• Active Directory user and group management.
• Software installation, upgrades and patch management.
