Java Backend Developer with AWS – Software Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Developer with strong AWS expertise to join the Employee Experience Technology organization at JPMorgan Chase as a Software Engineer II. In this role you will work within an agile team to design, develop, and maintain secure, stable, and scalable software components that power the firm’s technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and troubleshoot Java‑based backend services using Spring Boot.
• Design and implement solutions on AWS, ensuring security and scalability.
• Write clean, secure code with limited guidance and leverage AI‑assisted coding tools for generation, refactoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to understand system implications.
• Apply SDLC tools and automation to improve development efficiency.
• Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Java development.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot and AWS services.
• Hands‑on experience using enterprise‑approved AI‑assisted development tools and ability to validate AI‑generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure coding practices.
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle in a large corporate environment.
