IT Sales Director – BFSI (South Region, Chennai)

About the role

The IT Sales Director will lead revenue growth and market expansion for data analytics and cloud‑based solutions within the BFSI segment across the South Region, based in Chennai. This senior position requires deep domain expertise, strong industry relationships, and a proven ability to close complex enterprise deals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional sales strategy targeting banks, NBFCs, asset managers, brokerages and exchanges.
• Own the full sales cycle – lead generation, solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation and deal closure.
• Build and nurture relationships with CXOs, trading heads, risk heads, CIOs and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, pre‑sales and delivery teams to craft tailored solutions.
• Monitor BFSI market trends, competitive landscape and identify white‑space opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in pipeline management, forecasting and client engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of business development or sales experience within the BFSI sector.
• Proven track record of selling data analytics, AI/ML or cloud‑based solutions to large financial institutions.
• Strong network across BFSI and deep understanding of market structure, trading lifecycle and regulatory frameworks.
