Infrastructure Engineer – BA4

About the role

Barclays is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and maintain infrastructure platforms that support applications and data systems. The role focuses on ensuring the infrastructure is reliable, scalable and secure through automation and best‑practice engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and maintain high‑quality infrastructure solutions using IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) and automate testing, security controls and releases.
• Provide L2/L3 support, incident management and drive reliability (SRE) across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, security and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
• Maintain runbooks, knowledge base articles and ensure compliance with security, risk and governance standards.

Required profile

• Strong background in infrastructure engineering, automation and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with incident management, ITIL processes and delivering production‑grade services.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and work across distributed teams.
