Industrial Engineer – Electronics Manufacturing

About the role

Tata Electronics Private Limited is building India’s first AI‑enabled semiconductor foundry. We are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to drive operational excellence across our electronics manufacturing services, focusing on process optimisation, productivity gains and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse manufacturing processes to reduce cycle time, improve productivity and optimise costs.
• Track line performance metrics such as UPH, OEE, yield and labour efficiency; identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by defining cycle‑time, headcount and ramp‑up models.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, VSM) and drive lean manufacturing practices.
• Design and optimise plant layouts, workflows and material flow for better space utilisation.
• Conduct time‑and‑motion studies, apply MTM, MOST or MODAPTS methods and implement line balancing.
• Maintain capacity plans, monitor throughput and ensure compliance with EHS, OSHA and ergonomic standards.
• Utilise SAP/MES systems for EBOM‑to‑BOM conversion, work‑center creation and BOM release activities.

Required profile

• BE/BTech in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environments such as SMT, PCBA and box‑build assembly.
• Proven track record in lean manufacturing, line balancing and productivity improvement.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• SMT, PCBA, box‑build assembly processes.
• Productivity and line data tracking (UPH, OEE, yield calculation).
• Time‑study, work measurement, MTM, MOST, MODAPTS.
• SAP and MES system operation.
• Line automation and IoT solutions (preferred).
• Knowledge of OSHA, EHS and ergonomic standards.
