Food and Beverage Specialist

About the role

The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) in Bengaluru is seeking a full‑time Food and Beverage Specialist to lead daily operations in its dining venues and training restaurants. The role blends practical service management with academic instruction, ensuring students receive industry‑standard training while maintaining high service quality for campus guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee food and beverage service across campus cafés, restaurants, and bar areas, ensuring compliance with hygiene and quality standards.
• Design and update menus in collaboration with culinary teams, incorporating current industry trends.
• Deliver theoretical and practical lessons on restaurant operations, bar management, wine and spirits service, and guest etiquette.
• Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with international hospitality standards.
• Conduct hands‑on training sessions in mock restaurant and bar settings, evaluating student performance through practical exams.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary projects with kitchen and front‑office faculty, and support special events and industry visits.
• Maintain inventory control, presentation standards, and safety regulations during all practical sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in food & beverage operations.
• Prior teaching or training experience in an academic or professional environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
