First Class Boiler Attendant – Cuddalore Plant

About the role

The First Class Boiler Attendant will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an AFBC boiler and, where required, a back‑pressure turbine at our Cuddalore plant. This role supports continuous power generation for the chemicals division and ensures compliance with maintenance and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily trends and parameters of the boiler and turbine, ensuring optimal performance.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans for a boiler area exceeding 1,000 m².
• Coordinate overhauls and repairs with boiler operators, service providers, and other engineering departments.
• Manage coal and ash handling systems operated by contract workers, including ash disposal coordination with the EMD team.
• Support boiler operators in troubleshooting and provide technical assistance during plant operations.
• Operate the boiler through PLC/DCS control systems and maintain accurate records of spares and coal stocks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or B.E.) with a valid BOE certificate.
• Age preferably up to 28 years, can extend to 40 years.
• Hands‑on experience with boiler (AFBC) operation and maintenance; turbine experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and ensure strict adherence to safety interlocks.
• Basic computer literacy.
