Financial Controller / Head of Finance

About the role

Armatrix is seeking a strategic Financial Controller to build and own the financial foundation as the company moves from early deployments to structured commercial growth. This founding‑tier position works directly with the founders, shaping capital planning, manufacturing scale‑up, and fundraising for a venture‑backed deep‑tech robotics startup.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic finance and capital planning, allocating resources across R&D, hiring, and manufacturing while creating scenario‑based cash‑flow models and runway analyses.
• Design and implement hardware and manufacturing finance systems, including BOM costing, inventory/WIP accounting, and working‑capital management.
• Lead investor reporting and fundraising readiness through monthly MIS/KPI dashboards, data‑room management, and cap‑table/ESOP accounting.
• Develop unit economics for product sales and robotics‑as‑a‑service models to support pricing strategy and gross‑margin optimization.
• Oversee compliance and governance (GST, TDS, FEMA, RBI, foreign‑investment filings) and establish internal financial controls and audit workflows.
• Deploy ERP and accounting software to provide visibility into cost leakage and procurement efficiency.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) strongly preferred; MBA Finance or CFA a significant plus.
• 4+ years of professional finance experience, including at least 1 year in a venture‑backed startup.
• Deep understanding of working‑capital cycles and cost accounting in hardware or manufacturing.
• Proven track record managing audits, financial due diligence, and investor reporting.
• Hands‑on familiarity with Indian regulatory frameworks and foreign‑investment compliance.
