Financial Controller – Accounting & Operations Lead

About the role

Piermont Brands is seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the company’s accounting function and support rapid growth across its wine and spirits portfolio. The role blends day‑to‑day accounting, inventory oversight, and strategic financial analysis in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, maintaining the general ledger and preparing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Oversee inventory accounting, COGS, and margin reporting; collaborate with operations to ensure accurate valuation.
• Maintain integrations between accounting systems and operational platforms, including Cin7.
• Supervise accounts payable, receivable, expense management, and payroll accounting.
• Drive process improvements, internal controls, and automation of accounting procedures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors and auditors for filings and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full‑cycle responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and consistent accounting policies.
• Experience handling multi‑entity, inventory‑intensive businesses.
