Export Documentation & Logistics Specialist

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking an Export Documentation & Logistics Specialist to manage end‑to‑end export processes for its GMU business in Pune. The role ensures compliance with customs regulations, prepares export documentation, and coordinates international shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare export documents in required formats and ensure customs compliance.
• Liaise with banks, customs officials, DGFT, freight forwarders and other agencies.
• Generate export invoices, manage ERP export entries and coordinate shipment tracking.
• Classify goods with correct HS codes and handle SIMS, BIS, SCOMAT and GST compliance.
• Arrange economical packaging, freight bookings and calculate landed costs.
• Audit trade documents such as Bill of Lading, packing lists, certificates of origin and letters of credit.

Required profile

• 5‑6 years of experience in export logistics, customs clearance and international trade.
• Graduate or post‑graduation qualification in foreign trade or a related field (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Import/Export policy compliance and customs clearance.
• HS code classification, SIMS, BIS, SCOMAT and GST compliance.
• ERP system usage (D365 preferred) and MS Office.
• International logistics, Incoterms and letter of credit handling.
• LCL/FCL/ODC cargo management and weight/volume calculation.
• Preparation of Bill of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin.
• Freight booking, shipment tracking and landed cost calculation.
