Equipment Operator II – Municipal Public Works

About the role

The Rural Municipality of West St. Paul is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator II to join its Public Works team. You will operate a range of heavy and light equipment to maintain and improve municipal infrastructure while ensuring safe, reliable service for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Operate graders, front‑end loaders, sanding/plow trucks and snow‑blowers.
• Perform road maintenance tasks such as pothole patching, grading, gravel repair and dust control.
• Conduct snow plowing and sanding of roads, pathways and parking lots.
• Install and maintain traffic and information signage in compliance with standards.
• Support waste and recycling programs, including bin delivery and upkeep.
• Respond to emergency call‑outs and assist with infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience operating and maintaining heavy equipment, including motor graders.
• Valid Manitoba Class 3 driver’s licence with air‑brake endorsement (Class 1 is an asset).
• Experience in municipal public works, construction or a related field.
• Physical ability to perform manual labour outdoors in varying weather conditions.
