Engineering Head

About the role

Sun Pharma is seeking an experienced Engineering Head to lead the engineering function for its manufacturing site in Paonta Sahib. The role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing plant utilities, and driving continuous improvement across the engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Implement cGMP measures to satisfy regulatory requirements.
• Oversee operation, maintenance, validation, re‑validation, qualification and re‑qualification of utilities such as Power, HVAC, Water, Compressed Air and Steam.
• Prepare and control the engineering department budget, monitoring expenses against approvals.
• Coordinate with the corporate engineering team on improvement projects.
• Select vendors and allocate outsourced contracts (civil maintenance, painting, fabrication) and approve related invoices.
• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance programs to minimise plant downtime.
• Manage annual spare‑parts budgeting, approval and procurement.
• Handle procurement of spares and consumables for all plant equipment.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors, including those for imported machinery.
• Review document deviations, change controls, CAPA in Track‑Wise, SOPs in DCM and training records in LMS.

Required profile

• B.Tech or M.Tech in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 22–25 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or large‑scale manufacturing engineering.
