Electrical Engineer – Site Based

About the role

Gradiant India is seeking an on‑site Electrical Engineer to ensure reliable operation of power distribution, automation and instrumentation systems across its water‑treatment facilities in Chennai. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and energy management to support continuous plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot HT/LT distribution networks, transformers, DG sets, PCC, MCC, APFC panels, bus ducts, VFDs, soft starters, UPS systems and battery banks.
• Ensure uninterrupted power supply, proper load balancing, healthy power factor and compliance with electrical safety standards.
• Calibrate and maintain flow meters (electromagnetic, ultrasonic, mass), pressure gauges, differential pressure transmitters, temperature sensors (RTD, thermocouples), level transmitters (radar, ultrasonic, hydrostatic) and various analyzers (conductivity, pH, ORP, DO, turbidity, TOC, chlorine, silica, resistivity).
• Support PLC and SCADA platforms (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi), HMI interfaces, remote I/O and communication networks; monitor logic performance, troubleshoot automation failures and manage alarm systems.
• Monitor and maintain RO, EDI and UPW instrumentation, including feed flow and differential pressure transmitters.
• Coordinate with OEMs for software updates and maintain backup programs.

• HT/LT power distribution systems and equipment.
• Instrumentation calibration (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analyzers).
• PLC programming and SCADA/HMI operation (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi).
• Variable Frequency Drives, soft starters and UPS systems.
• Electrical safety and earthing/lightning protection.
