Driver for NGO Health Project

About the role

The Driver will support the YRGMERF project team by providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation for staff and project activities across field locations, health facilities, and community sites. This role involves regular travel, vehicle upkeep, and assistance with loading equipment while adhering to road safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transport for project staff to field visits, meetings, trainings, and other official activities.
• Plan routes and travel schedules in coordination with the project team, considering field locations and timelines.
• Maintain the vehicle in clean, roadworthy condition, conducting routine checks of fuel, tyres, oil, coolant, brakes, lights, and other essential components.
• Keep accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, service records, and ensure all vehicle documents (registration, insurance, pollution certificate, licence) are valid.
• Assist with safe loading and unloading of project materials and equipment when required.

Required profile

• Valid commercial/professional driving licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
• Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience; experience with NGOs or public‑health projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations.
• Clean driving record with a strong commitment to road and passenger safety.

Required skills

• Valid commercial driving licence.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge (ability to identify common issues and perform routine checks).
