Director of People & Culture

About the role

The Director of People & Culture will lead all HR functions for an Accor hotel, shaping strategy, culture and talent development to support business objectives. This senior position reports to the General Manager and works closely with department heads.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, implement and compile data for monthly performance and talent & culture reporting.
• Set and monitor periodic HR and training budgets, providing forecasts and variance analysis.
• Participate in management meetings to align HR initiatives with the hotel’s business plan.
• Develop, implement and ensure compliance with HR policies, compensation, benefits, health & safety, employee communication, industrial relations, training, performance and career development.
• Oversee payroll administration, benefits management and legal compliance.
• Assess manpower needs, coordinate recruitment with agencies, interview and evaluate candidates for management positions.
• Design and maintain competitive wage and salary structures to attract and retain talent.
• Identify training and development needs, manage employee promotion processes and succession planning for middle and senior management.
• Represent the hotel in collective bargaining and liaise with labour organisations.
• Manage staff facilities, employee events, recognition programs and internal communications such as newsletters.
• Provide guidance on grievance handling and disciplinary matters while maintaining confidentiality.

Required profile

• Extensive experience leading HR functions, preferably within hospitality or a comparable sector.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation, benefits and talent management.
• Proven ability to develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for labour relations and stakeholder engagement.
• Strategic mindset with the capacity to align HR initiatives with overall business goals.
