Design Engineer – CAD & Automation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to develop mechanical components and fixtures for the automation industry. The role involves creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, interpreting engineering drawings and standards, and supporting manufacturing through accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D CAD models for parts, assemblies and fixtures.
• Generate assembly and part drawings, Bill of Materials and related documentation.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure design compliance with engineering standards.
• Design spot‑welding and MIG‑welding fixtures and support their implementation on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with tooling, machine and fabrication teams to validate designs.
• Support project design activities at site when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in CAD part design and reading engineering drawings.
• Background in the automation or industrial manufacturing sector.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and fixture design.
• Ability to work with MS Excel and Word for documentation.
