Deputy Manager – Shipping

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Shipping will lead shift‑based dispatch operations for Varun Beverages Ltd., ensuring timely and accurate delivery of beverage orders from plant and depot locations across India. The role combines inventory control, transportation coordination, and people management to meet strict service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee dispatch operations, guaranteeing order dispatch within 12‑hour or next‑day deadlines and maintaining pendency below 2%.
• Drive FIFO compliance, keep finished‑goods obsolete below 0.02%, and support monthly physical stock verification.
• Ensure 100% electronic POD updates, timely sales return entries, and no pending empty receipt reports.
• Coordinate vehicle placement, reduce turnaround time, and monitor inbound FG movement with accurate MIGO booking.
• Produce daily MIS reports before 8 AM, maintain dashboard accuracy, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage shift workforce—including checkers, loaders, and contractors—while upholding safety, quality, and audit standards.

Required profile

• Graduate or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics.
• 5–10 years of experience in FMCG, beverage, or logistics environments with exposure to dispatch and warehouse operations.
