Deputy Manager – Project Purchasing (PPE)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Deputy Manager to lead project‑based purchasing activities for personal protective equipment (PPE) and related supplier parts at Bosch’s RBAI plant in Chennai. The role will manage the full procurement lifecycle from request for quotation (RFQ) through engineering change release (ECR) while driving cost‑saving initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end purchasing projects for supplier parts, from RFQ issuance to ECR release.
• Classify parts and develop bundling strategies (part families, material clusters).
• Identify and develop alternate sources to mitigate supply risk.
• Execute sourcing activities, including technical supplier discussions, feasibility assessments, and risk analysis.
• Lead global relocation/transfer projects and manage sample ordering, VQP and PPAP processes.
• Drive change management for procured parts and conduct regular cross‑functional reviews.
• Facilitate workshops to generate cost‑saving ideas through design RPP, standardisation and supplier optimisation.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional experience in purchasing, engineering, manufacturing or project management.
• Strong technical knowledge of drawing interpretation and engineering change processes.
