Deli Chef / Cook – Full‑time at Centra

About the role

Centra is looking for a motivated Deli Chef/Cook to keep its food production area running smoothly and deliver high‑quality fresh products to customers. You will be part of a busy retail kitchen, ensuring that every dish meets the brand’s standards of taste and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and display fresh deli items throughout the day, adhering to Centra’s brand values.
• Complete all customer orders to the highest standard and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Support the overall operation of the food production area, including stock taking and portion‑control calculations.
• Assist with the induction, training and development of new kitchen staff.
• Participate in any training or development programmes directed by store management.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in fresh food preparation and deli operations.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and key performance indicators.
• Fully trained in HACCP and food‑safety standards.
• Experience with stocktaking and cost‑price calculations.
• Passionate about the food industry, creative with product offering, and customer‑focused.
