Data Engineer – AI Governance

About the role

AlphaSense is building an enterprise‑wide AI governance function. As a Data Engineer you will create and maintain the data layer that provides traceable, auditable metrics for AI risk, compliance and board reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the analytical data model for AI governance, including pipelines that transform raw landed data into trusted metrics.
• Implement automated data‑quality checks, freshness monitoring and end‑to‑end lineage to ensure every figure can be traced back to its source system.
• Reconcile the AI System Registry with the product‑security AI bill‑of‑materials, generating exception reports and maintaining data integrity.
• Develop and maintain executive‑level dashboards and narrative reports for the CISO, AI Governance Council and board.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in analytics, data or BI engineering, preferably supporting security, risk or compliance functions.
• Strong ability to work with imperfect, multi‑source data and make judgement calls on reconciliation, flagging or refusing to report.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL (window functions, complex joins, performance tuning).
• Python for data transformation (pandas or equivalent).
• Data modeling and ETL/ELT pipeline design, dimensional modeling.
• Cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or Databricks.
• Version control and CI/CD for analytics code (Git, dbt, GitHub Actions).
• BI and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
