Solutions Architect - Public Sector

About the role

As a Solutions Architect for the public sector, you will work with Databricks’ sales and product teams to help customers adopt the Databricks Lakehouse Platform and achieve data‑driven outcomes. You will act as a technical advisor, shaping architectures and guiding implementations across data engineering, data science and machine learning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to provide technical leadership and help customers solve business problems with Databricks.
• Define account strategies, develop a book of business and execute proof‑of‑concept projects for strategic public‑sector prospects.
• Design and validate big‑data architectures, including data engineering, data science, machine learning and SQL analytics workflows, and integrate with cloud services and third‑party tools.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence the roadmap and create technical champions.
• Work with fellow Solutions Architects to share expertise and support customers across the region.
• Promote and contribute to Databricks‑related open‑source projects such as Spark, Delta Lake and MLflow.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture or pre‑sales consulting.
• Deep knowledge of big‑data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra and AI/ML frameworks.
• Strong consulting and customer‑facing experience across multiple industry sectors.
• Hands‑on coding experience in Python, R, Java or Scala, preferably with Apache Spark.
• Proven ability to build distributed data systems and deliver solutions on public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Willingness to travel within the region and engage with customers on‑site.
• Databricks certification is a plus.
