Cybersecurity Analyst – Defensive Operations

About the role

Defend the systems that hold hundreds of thousands of people's employment data. As a Cybersecurity Analyst you will work alongside IT and security professionals to monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents for a leading employer‑services organization.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor network traffic, system logs, endpoint detection and security alerts to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to alerts, suspected breaches and network intrusions, executing incident‑response tasks.
• Review vulnerability assessments and help mitigate identified issues.
• Create and manage security tickets, contribute to briefings and reports for management reviews and compliance audits.
• Propose improvements to standard operating procedures and tooling, and partner with IT and product development teams on risk mitigation.
• Educate colleagues on security concepts as part of daily activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking ability, including risk assessment.
• Ability to explain complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Keen attention to detail and comfort handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team‑player instincts across cross‑functional groups.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, applications and security technology concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with security toolsets such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewalls.
• Scripting for automation using Python or PowerShell.
• Exposure to cloud security on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
