Controlling Specialist – Finance & Compliance (Hyderabad)

About the role

BASF SE is establishing a Global Capability Center in Hyderabad and seeks a Controlling Specialist to support finance and compliance for its delivery organization. The role involves end‑to‑end financial management, cost analysis and providing insights that drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cost analysis, monitoring, reporting and budgeting for the assigned business area.
• Liaise with the Finance Manager and provide actionable recommendations.
• Deliver reliable financial information for strategic planning and management decisions.
• Understand global accounting and charging mechanisms.
• Lead automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives within the team.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, forecasting and budget planning.
• Improve and automate reporting to ensure transparency of cost development.
• Monitor project cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking.
• Prepare and present clear financial reports to management.
• Coordinate ad‑hoc analyses and respond to management inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Group accounting and controlling guidelines.
• Conduct training sessions for stakeholders to promote smooth processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Controlling or Accounting.
• Several years of experience in business or controlling functions (preferred).
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with a proactive learning attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (including Excel).
• Experience with SAP BW.
• Experience with SAP CO/CI.
• Knowledge of PowerBI for reporting and analytics.
