City Lead – Surveillance (Patna)

About the role

PATH, a global nonprofit focused on health equity, is seeking a City Lead for Surveillance in Patna. The role will provide overall leadership for strengthening urban disease surveillance, ensuring early detection and rapid response to health threats.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of urban surveillance strengthening activities in Patna.
• Manage day‑to‑day stakeholder engagement with Municipal Surveillance Unit, District Surveillance Unit, City Programme Management Unit, Urban Local Bodies and other relevant departments.
• Conduct situational analysis of the existing urban surveillance system, identifying gaps in coverage, reporting timeliness and data quality.
• Ensure timely execution of city‑level activities according to approved timelines and budgets.
• Develop and apply city‑specific surveillance strengthening strategies and action plans.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in surveillance operations and urban health systems.
• Proven experience in stakeholder coordination across human, animal and environmental health sectors.
• Strong understanding of the One Health approach and its practical application.
• Ability to deliver outputs, milestones and KPIs as defined in activity plans.
