Cashier – Branch Banking (Full‑time)

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining accurate registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations and ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, updating system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare end‑of‑day reports and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, cross‑sell bank products, and educate them on alternate channels for transactions.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies.

Required profile

• UG graduation, preferably in Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions.
• Exposure to financial modules/ERP for entry and consolidation of accounting data.
• Ability to detect counterfeit notes and verify customer authenticity.

Required skills

• Cash handling and accounting skills.
• Data entry in ERP/financial modules.
• Proficiency with computer applications and banking software (training provided).
• Strong numerical accuracy.
