Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Senior Tax Accountant position is a full‑time, on‑site role based in New Delhi. You will manage complex tax compliance and planning assignments, prepare and review GST, Income Tax and other statutory returns, and support both internal and external audits. The role also involves advising clients on tax‑efficient structures, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end tax compliance and planning assignments for domestic and foreign clients.
• Prepare, review and file GST, Income Tax and other statutory returns with supporting documentation.
• Analyze financial statements to ensure correct accounting treatment of tax items.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing tax‑related information.
• Advise clients on tax‑efficient structures and identify potential tax risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with legal and advisory teams on transaction structuring.
• Prepare tax‑related reports and MIS for internal and client use.
• Mentor junior team members and stay current with changes in tax legislation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws, including GST and Income Tax.
• Practical experience in tax preparation, return filing and documentation review.
• Solid accounting background with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess tax implications.
• Relevant qualification such as B.Com, M.Com, semi‑qualified CA or a postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation.
• Several years of experience in tax advisory, public accounting or corporate taxation, preferably within Indian regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
