Business Analyst - Banking Technology

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Business Analyst in Bengaluru, India, to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and software engineering teams in a banking environment. The role identifies business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities, and ensures technology solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse banking products and processes, including retail and digital banking, payments and cards processing, lending, savings and current accounts, and customer onboarding and KYC.
• Ensure solutions comply with banking regulations, risk controls, security requirements and internal governance standards.
• Work with software engineers throughout the SDLC and take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews and retrospectives.
• Prioritise and manage product backlogs with Product Owners and clarify requirements for development teams.
• Perform data analysis and validation with SQL and reporting tools, define data requirements, support data migration and help build business reports, dashboards and KPIs.
• Read and translate Open API/Swagger specifications and UCRs into user stories, acceptance criteria and data models, and support API and integration changes across the full lifecycle.

Required profile

• Experience analysing banking products and processes and ensuring compliance with banking regulations and risk controls.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with strong communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• SQL and data analysis with reporting tools
• API and integration understanding (REST, JSON, XML)
• Process mapping, gap analysis and stakeholder management
• Agile tools such as Jira, AWS, DevOps or Confluence (highly valued)
• Reading Open API/Swagger specs and defining API requirements
