Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

The Bank Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at a branch, ensuring compliance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position supports the Branch Operation Manager and contributes to smooth cash handling and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash‑related transactions such as cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and cash withdrawals within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash on withdrawal requests, collect cash deposits, and maintain accurate system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and prepare the Branch End‑of‑Day report.
• Jointly manage the branch vault and safeguard cash, keys and valuables with the Assistant Branch Manager.
• Provide courteous customer service, address queries, and promote bank products and alternate channels.
• Ensure adherence to transaction turnaround times, regulatory compliance and bank policies.
• Validate customer authenticity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy.

Required profile

• Experience handling cash transactions and maintaining registers in a banking environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate daily reconciliations.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and cross‑selling services.
• Understanding of banking guidelines, compliance requirements and vault operations.
