Bank Cashier – Branch Operations

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier to manage all cash‑related transactions at our branch. The role ensures accurate processing of deposits, withdrawals, cheque handling and end‑of‑day reconciliation in line with banking guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and asset registers, and forward requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare the End‑of‑Day branch report and ensure vault operations are conducted jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Provide courteous customer service, explain repayment schedules, promote bank products and guide customers to alternative channels.
• Adhere to turnaround times, regulatory requirements and internal policies for all cashier operations.
• Validate customer identity during cash withdrawals and verify deposit slip accuracy for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle cash accurately.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers.
• Understanding of banking procedures and compliance standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with branch staff and maintain vault security.
