Associate – Taxation (Contract) – Remote, India

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Associate – Taxation to support our Assistant Manager – Taxation. The role is remote and involves handling direct and indirect tax compliance, payroll processing and related documentation for a 12‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file TDS, Income Tax and Professional Tax returns within statutory deadlines.
• Assist in preparing and filing GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B, GSTR‑9) and support GST audit documentation.
• Maintain trackers for all tax compliance due dates and filing status.
• Support statutory labour law compliance (EPF, ESI, LWF) by preparing returns and maintaining registration records.
• Assist in monthly payroll calculations, verification of tax deductions, PF contributions and disbursement of salaries.
• Reconcile GST input‑output with books of accounts and prepare payroll and tax reports for management.
• Coordinate with HR for payroll‑related data and compile documents for tax and statutory audits.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for tax planning and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in taxation, GST compliance or payroll processing (CA firm, consultancy or in‑house preferred).
• Working knowledge of Income Tax, TDS, GST and payroll‑related statutory compliances (EPF, ESI, LWF).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Familiarity with payroll or tax software (advantageous).

What we offer

• Contract duration of minimum 12 months.
• Annual CTC between ₹6,00,000 and ₹8,00,000.
• Fully remote work arrangement.
