Associate Director – Overhead Line Equipment (OLE)

About the role

WSP is looking for an Associate Director – Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) to lead the OLE team within its Rail & Transit business. The role will manage delivery, guide technical development and collaborate with project teams across Sweden and global locations to ensure high‑quality, compliant OLE solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of OLE design packages for Swedish rail projects from feasibility to IFC stages.
• Oversee preparation and technical review of layout plans, cross‑sections, wire run schedules, mast schedules and related deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with Trafikverket requirements and EN/IEC standards.
• Apply system‑engineering principles and coordinate OLE designs with track, signalling, telecom, civil and structural disciplines.
• Manage and mentor the OLE team, allocate work, review outputs and develop capability.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Sweden, India, Nordics, UK and other regions.
• Lead technical discussions, client submissions, design reviews and resolution of comments.
• Drive continuous improvement of design standards, workflows and quality processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or professional certification is a plus).
• 15+ years of experience in railway OLE/electrification design, including team leadership and project delivery.
• Proven experience delivering mainline rail electrification projects, preferably in Europe/Nordic markets.
