Associate Director – GCC Markets Non-Financial Risk

About the role

As an Associate Director for GCC Markets Non-Financial Risk (NFR) at ANZ, you will lead a dedicated team that supports the broader Markets NFR function in managing non-financial risk across the global Markets business. The role ensures alignment with enterprise risk management standards and regulatory expectations while providing data-driven insights to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and retain a high-performing risk team.
• Support the wider Markets NFR team in governance, oversight and risk management in line with enterprise standards and regulatory obligations.
• Design and implement divisional governance artefacts such as attestations, aggregated risk profiles, risk reviews and issue tracking.
• Oversee thematic reviews and internal audits conducted by second and third lines of defence.
• Provide actionable, data-driven insights across end-to-end business and customer journeys.
• Act as a trusted strategic partner to promote a strong, sustainable risk culture.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading risk or compliance teams within a financial institution.
• Deep understanding of non-financial risk, enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations for markets activities.
• Proven ability to work with second and third line defence functions and to drive governance initiatives.
• Strong analytical mindset with the capability to translate data into actionable risk insights.
