Project Accounting Associate Analyst

About the role

The Project Accounting Associate Analyst supports business units throughout the complete project lifecycle, including project approval, cost allocation, asset capitalization, write‑offs, and project closure activities. The role performs daily and monthly project accounting activities, supports accurate project data, and contributes to timely month‑end close, controls, audit readiness, and process improvement across BASF group companies and businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly project accounting activities for BASF group companies and businesses.
• Complete month‑end close for assigned low‑complexity companies accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate project master data and supporting documentation.
• Support project approvals, cost allocations, asset capitalization, write‑offs and project closure.
• Collaborate on process design improvements and identify automation opportunities.
• Assist with merger, acquisition and divestiture activities.
• Support audits, internal controls, reconciliations and other organizational requirements.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in Finance (e.g., B.Com., CA, CPA) or MBA/Master’s in Finance or Accounting.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance or project accounting.
• Understanding of month‑end closing, cost allocation, asset capitalization and financial controls.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn in a global business services environment.
