Project Accounting Manager (GB/G)

About the role

The Project Accounting Manager leads project and asset accounting activities for BASF’s group companies, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting. The role oversees a team, partners with internal stakeholders, and drives process improvements, automation and M&A‑related accounting projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project accounting and asset accounting, reviewing closures, postings and reconciliations.
• Manage a team of analysts, providing performance management, coaching and development.
• Partner with finance and business stakeholders to deliver solutions, maintain data quality and meet service level agreements.
• Drive process optimisation, digitalisation and automation initiatives.
• Act as single point of contact for audits, internal controls and M&A accounting projects.

Required profile

• Professional finance qualification (CA, CMA, Inter CA, BCom) or MBA/Master in Finance/Accounting.
• 12‑18 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years leading a team of 10+ FTE.
• Experience in an MNC environment; GCC experience preferred.
• Strong English communication skills; additional languages a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, lease accounting and capitalization.
