Airport Retail Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Buyer to manage the product assortment for airport retail stores of Isha Life in Coimbatore. The role focuses on selecting and sourcing merchandise that meets the needs of travellers, supports impulse purchases, and drives revenue across airport locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a differentiated product assortment tailored to airport travellers, balancing best‑selling, premium, exclusive and entry‑price items.
• Prepare category‑wise sales and purchase plans, forecast demand based on passenger traffic, seasonality and promotional calendars, and manage inventory levels.
• Identify, negotiate with, and manage reliable suppliers, securing favourable purchase prices, credit terms and delivery schedules while ensuring product quality and compliance.
• Set retail prices considering landed cost, competition and margin targets, and monitor category gross margins.
• Ensure products meet airport‑specific requirements for packaging, shelf life, portability and security, coordinating with product and packaging teams.
• Analyse sales and inventory data to track performance, generate reports and recommend corrective actions for under‑performing items.
• Plan and execute seasonal and promotional product launches aligned with airport traffic patterns.

Required profile

• Experience in retail buying, category management or procurement, preferably within travel or airport environments.
• Strong analytical abilities to forecast demand, manage inventory and evaluate profitability.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor‑management skills.
• Attention to detail for compliance with airport regulations and product specifications.
