Field Operator – Calcium Chloride Plant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, safety‑focused Field Operator for our Calcium Chloride (CaCl₂) plant. The role involves monitoring and controlling plant parameters, operating field equipment, and supporting start‑up, shut‑down and emergency activities in close coordination with the Shift In‑charge, DCS Supervisor and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust process variables (temperature, pressure, flow, level) within defined limits.
• Operate field equipment such as pumps, valves, conveyors, fans, dryers and associated utilities according to SOPs.
• Execute plant start‑up, shut‑down and emergency procedures safely and efficiently.
• Perform regular field rounds, report abnormalities, and assist maintenance during inspections and repairs.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, shift reports and hand‑over information to the next crew.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline with at least 4 years of experience in a continuous‑process chemical plant, preferably Calcium Chloride.
• Strong understanding of chemical process operations, PFDs, P&IDs and DCS concepts.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, follow SOPs and adhere to strict EHS and PPE requirements.

Required skills

• Operation of pumps, valves, conveyors, fans and dryers.
• Basic troubleshooting of process and equipment abnormalities.
• Interpretation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) interfaces.
