Attorney – Legal Center of Excellence (Bangalore)

About the role

As an Attorney at IBM, you will join a dynamic Bangalore‑based legal team that supports IBM’s global lawyers and business units. Working within the Legal Center of Excellence, you will provide legal guidance across a wide range of transactional and non‑transactional matters.

Key responsibilities

• Support early‑stage commercial engagements such as direct and indirect distribution agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and related IT contracts.
• Advise internal functions—including procurement, real estate, human resources and finance—on regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, litigation, intellectual property, workplace relations, privacy and cybersecurity.
• Contribute to continuous operational improvement of legal service delivery across IBM’s business areas and geographies.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in India with 4–8 years of experience in‑house or at a law firm.
• Proven ability to negotiate IT contracts with government and commercial entities covering services, software and cloud solutions.
• Experience handling privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property and regulatory compliance issues.
• Demonstrated independence, strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity.
