Staff Systems Administrator – Enterprise IT Infrastructure

About the role

Shield AI is looking for a highly autonomous Staff Systems Administrator to own and operate its enterprise IT infrastructure and end‑user computing in a security‑sensitive environment. The role blends deep infrastructure ownership with hands‑on service delivery, ensuring compliance, security, and resilience across on‑prem and cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate on‑premises and cloud (Azure/AWS) servers, storage, backup, identity services, core network services, and enterprise applications.
• Maintain firewalled, segmented environments with strict trust boundaries, network segmentation, and controlled cross‑entity connectivity.
• Establish and enforce secure configuration baselines, patching, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint hardening for Windows, macOS, Linux, and network devices.
• Administer Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, and Jamf for lifecycle management of users, groups, and devices.
• Document architecture, change procedures, recovery plans, and provide audit‑ready evidence for internal and external assessments.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise IT operations.
• Proven ability to independently own production IT infrastructure in a regulated, security‑sensitive organization.
• Strong documentation, risk communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
