Senior Software Engineer (AI Tooling & Platform)

About the role

Appian is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead AI‑first tooling, SDLC automation, and developer productivity initiatives. You will work on building internal tools and platforms that empower engineers across the organization. The role combines deep backend expertise with modern cloud and AI practices.

Key responsibilities

• Drive AI‑first tooling, SDLC automation, and developer productivity initiatives.
• Design, develop, and maintain internal developer platforms and tools.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience building internal tools or developer platforms.
• Strong CI/CD and automation expertise, including Generative AI integration in the software development lifecycle.
• Deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, microservices and distributed system architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud infrastructure, container frameworks (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Required skills

• Java or Python programming.
• CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Generative AI integration.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• AI‑assisted development tools such as Kiro, Claude, Copilot.
