Senior Windows Systems Engineer

About the role

Ensono is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation and support of enterprise‑wide Windows infrastructure for its strategic accounts. The role involves acting as the top technical escalation point and driving automation, security and reliability across on‑premises and Azure environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L3/L4 expertise for Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware, handling critical incidents and major outages.
• Administer, patch, upgrade and modernise Windows Server 2012‑2025 platforms, including DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, Certificate Services and Failover Clustering.
• Manage hybrid infrastructure, overseeing Azure VM administration, backup, recovery and identity services.
• Drive automation using PowerShell, PowerShell DSC, Ansible and related tools.
• Maintain monitoring solutions such as ServiceNow, Grafana, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, SCOM and Dynatrace.
• Ensure security compliance through vulnerability remediation, Windows hardening and audit support.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and produce technical documentation, runbooks and standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise Windows infrastructure.
• 5‑7 years of deep experience with Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policy.
• Proven ability to lead incident response, root‑cause analysis and service‑improvement initiatives.

• Microsoft Azure VM, Azure Backup, Site Recovery, Monitor, Arc and Hybrid Identity.
• PowerShell and PowerShell DSC scripting; Ansible.
• Monitoring tools: ServiceNow, Grafana, LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, SCOM, Dynatrace.
• Backup and DR solutions: Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup.
• Security frameworks: CIS hardening, Microsoft Defender, Qualys, Tenable.
