Safety Officer – TermOps (Lead Safety)

About the role

The Safety Officer – TermOps will lead safety initiatives at the Bhopal site, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, regulations and standards. The role focuses on identifying, mitigating and escalating key risks while supporting line management in implementing safety processes.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established safety policies, processes and SOPs and support line management in their interpretation and implementation.
• Assist in launching new safety initiatives and projects to meet future site requirements.
• Participate in first‑ and third‑party health and safety audits for the designated area/plant.
• Conduct safety observations, maintain log books and occurrence records, and ensure shift‑related safety documentation is up‑to‑date.
• Investigate safety incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Engage in risk‑management programs, including control‑measure identification and incident investigation.
• Prepare MIS reports, safety updates and performance indices for area management.
• Track leading and lagging safety metrics and drive improvement initiatives.
• Develop and deliver safety training modules and awareness programs for site employees.
• Coordinate plant‑level safety committee meetings and manage near‑miss analysis.

Required profile

• Engineer Safety background as indicated by the job role.
• Experience in safety management within an industrial environment.
