Product Specialist – East Commercial Unit

About the role

The Product Specialist – East Commercial Unit will develop and execute product strategies for a defined set of crops and geography, ensuring the portfolio meets the needs of targeted customer segments and aligns with Syngenta’s business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement product strategies for the assigned geography, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Create local Target Product Profiles and lead decisions on market positioning, portfolio shaping, and product life‑cycle management.
• Plan and oversee trials, specifying standard varieties, seed allocations, and key evaluation traits for PLC 6 trials.
• Consolidate trial reports to support advancement decisions and promotional activities.
• Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) strategies, including customer‑experience campaigns and variety naming, registration, and IP protection.
• Assess value traits, propose pricing, and provide strategic inputs based on market trends and competitor analysis.
• Update customer needs and preferences to maintain portfolio health and prioritize target markets.
• Offer technical support to key producers and equip the sales team with technical arguments and after‑sales assistance.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in product strategy development within the seed or agricultural sector.
• Proven ability to manage product life‑cycle, market positioning, and portfolio shaping.
• Experience consolidating trial data and driving promotional activities.
• Strong competence in defining and executing NPI strategies and customer‑experience initiatives.
• Ability to analyse market trends, competitor landscapes, and pricing dynamics.
• Excellent understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate them into actionable product plans.
